WHERE JOHNSON WILSON CAME FROM

Johnson was born about 1818 in northeastern Tennessee.  I have found documentation of him living in Johnson County, Tennessee in 1840.  Johnson County formed in 1836 from Carter county, so it's safe to assume that he was born in Carter County, Tennessee.

After checking county history from back then,  this area was first Washington County, NC.  When Tennessee officially became the 16th state, that is when this area transferred to Washington Co., TN.  It then split off to form Carter Co., TN.   Later, that divided and part of it became Johnson Co., TN.

Johnson Wilson married Maria/Mariah Maynard/Manard in Johnson County, Tennessee in 1838.

The 1900 census was the last one that Johnson was listed in.  He was living with his children with Joseph as head of household at that time.  He is not listed in the 1910 census, therefore it is assumed that he died sometime between the two censuses.
